The Tudor-style facade was restored for this addition and renovation. The sloped attic ceiling of the original one-and-a-half storey house contained two small bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. The low ceiling height rendered almost fifty percent of the second floor unusable. The roof was raised to provide an eight foot ceiling throughout the second floor. Doubling the floor area accommodated three large bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first floor was gutted to provide an open layout to visually increase the living space.
